Purpose:

Shallow Depth Of Field is a very powerful tool for telling a story and getting details across. Many movies use this feature yet cameras nowaday with small CCDs cannot produce. The main purpose of this adapter is to bring shallow depth of field film look to low budget filmmakers with DV or HDV cameras.

This adapter involves the concept of using a 35mm SLR still camera lens to project an image onto a translucent piece of moving glass. This projected image is then literally focused on by the DV or HDV camera and recorded. All this takes place in a tube.

We know that many people are trying to build the adapters themselves. If you do the math, the cost of making one is about equal to the one we sell here, so my message is: Focus on filming, let us do all the works for you.

Don't let the low price scares you. The reason that we can offer low price is, we have the ability to make most of the parts ourselves that cut the cost of middle man which is usually a lot.

Ease of use:

Our adapter comes with 82mm, 77mm or 72mm filter thread ready to be mounted on cameras. Just put it on the way you put your filter on, align it with one screw, turn the switch on and it's ready to be used. We use 2 AA batteries to power a vibrating motor. We suggest that you use fresh ones.

If your camera has different filter size, it's your responsibility to buy a step up or step down adapter ring to 82mm, 77mm or 72mm so you can mount this adapter on your camera.

Our adapters are tested and work with most cameras. In order to get you the best adapter for your camera, you need to let us know what camera you are going to use.
